•Nigerian soldiers on patrol in north east Nigeria The Nigerian Military said troops from the 7 Division, Nigerian Army, Maiduguri, on Wednesday killed several Boko Haram commanders and rescued more females. The information was contained in a statement by Col. Sani Usman, the Acting Director of Army Public Relations. Usman said the troops cleared several terrorists’ strong points and training camps in the Sambisa forest in Borno and killed several commanders and foot soldiers of the terrorists. “The troops have also rescued additional women and children. They have been evacuated to a safety zone for further processing. “During the encounter, unfortunately we lost a soldier while four others were wounded in action,” he said. A pretty and slim female truck driver caused traffic in Ibadan when people stopped their cars just to take pictures of her. The Twitter user who shared the images said the lady drove so well, she even left other drivers in the traffic after she had wriggled her truck out of the gridlock and drove off. Saudi Arabia on Wednesday said King Salman bin Abdulaziz had removed his crown prince and foreign minister, as part of a dramatic reshuffling of his top officials. The king replaced his younger half-brother, Prince Muqrin bin Abdulaziz, as crown prince, appointing his nephew, Deputy Crown Prince Mohammedbin Nayef, as his new heir apparent. He appointed his son, Prince Mohammed bin Salman, as deputy crown prince, making him second in line to the throne. He replaced veteran Foreign Minister Prince Saud Al Faisal with Saudi Arabia’s ambassador to the U.S. Adel al-Jubeir.

The dreaded Boko Haram insurgents has been spotted in Zimbabwe in transit to South Africa, according to reports by UK-based news outlet ZimEye, citing Zimbabwe’s national intelligence agency. According to the Zimbabwean news website, the Central Intelligence Organisation (CIO) issued an intelligence report, warning that the Islamist militant group is in Zimbabwe en route to neighbouring South Africa. ZimEye added that the South African intelligence service has alerted police officers in Zimbabwe’s Matebeleland region about Boko Haram’s intentions to infiltrate South Africa. Other Zimbabwean media outlets have picked up the story.
