#MySuperStarStory: ‘I Squatted with a Squatter’ – Bovi

Nigerian stand-up comedian, Bovi, is undoubtedly an A-list comedian, who has worked with the biggest names in Nigerian entertainment and also with international acts like Wyclef Jean and Ja-Rule.
During a recent #MySuperStarStory interview, Bovi revealed that his sojourn to the top of the comedy circuit in Nigeria was far from easy.
He revealed that upon moving to Lagos, he squatted with an uncle, who himself was squatting with a colleague. He went on to reveal that after taking up comedy as a career, he was billed to perform at a big comedy show in 2008, but upon getting to the venue he was told that he was not on the bill and thus was not allowed to perform, his pleas to be given a chance notwithstanding.
The heartbreaking experience, he said moved him to tears.

It's been 25 years since Saddam Hussein's invasion of Kuwait

A quarter century ago, after Saddam Hussein's Iraqi army successfully invaded and took over the tiny Persian Gulf nation of Kuwait, President George H.W. Bush famously drew a line in the sand against Iraqi aggression. While the United States and its allies easily ejected Iraq from Kuwait within seven months of the Aug. 2, 1990, invasion, Bush's line has continued onward in an almost Biblical fashion, accompanied by plenty of pre-modern horrors. The Gulf War begat the 9/11 terrorist attacks, which begat the US invasions of Afghanistan and Iraq, which begat ISIS, which begat a potential future war with Iran or Syria or even what remains of Iraq.
