Controversy trails the return of girls rescued at Sambisa Forest

On Tuesday, April 28, 2015, the Nigerian Defence Headquarters via it’s verified Twitter account tweeted that troops had just rescued 200 girls and 93 women from Sambisa Forest.
As good as it sounds, that at least a large number of kidnapped girls and women have just been rescued, the military headquaters added that it could not immediately ascertain if some of these were the kidnapped Chibok girls or not.

Immediately, news went viral the kidnapped Chibok girls had been found and while the Defence headquarters updated that the freed persons are being profiled,

to confirm their identity, AP news immediately confirmed that none of the kidnapped Chibok girls are among the rescued 293.

As at the time of this report, the Defence Headquarters is yet to make any confirmations on the matter, apart from announcing that the girls and women were being profiled at a safe location. Nigerians, however, remain eager to see the saga of the Chibok girls who have been in captivity now for more than a year, brought to an end.
